Problem: GoDaddy SSL Certificate Revoked

OK, I admit I flubbed this up.  I didn't understand that I could back up and install a certificate from an old decommissioned server to a new replacement server.  Instead, I requested that our SSL cert from GoDaddy be re-keyed.

The problem now is that I have installed the re-keyed certificate, but the web site says that the certificate has been revoked.  I called GoDaddy, and they said that on a re-key request, they automatically revoke the old certificate's private key.  They said I should completely remove the old certificate and it's private key, then request a certificate with a new private key.

The only way I could see to do that was export the old certificate and request that the private key be deleted on successful export.  then I deleted the old cert.  I requested a new cert request, got the new cert from GoDaddy, installed it.  I STILL get an error saying the certificate has been revoked.  Arggg!

Any suggestions?

I assume this is with IIS?  Try resetting IIS services first, if that doesn't work then bounce the server.  You can also try Internet Options - Content tab - Clear SSL state - try from server and client.  Also, if there is a proxy then flush that.  On client that has connected before, can also try clearing temp internet files, history, etc.
