How to add TCP/IP port for server 2003
I read a previous experts-exchange answer about a print spooler error and it recommended running the cleanspl tool from the Windows Resource Kit. I did this, but now when I go back to add a printer, I no longer have a TCP/IP port option. How can I add this back? I'm running Windows Server 2003 and need to add back around 20 TCP/IP ports for the printers (almost all are HP).
If you have a copy of the HP Webdirect software CD, you can simply rerun the installation wizard. However, if these printers were previously installed, the standard TCP/IP ports should still be there. Run the Printer Setup wizard, select 'local printer', and your previously installed TCP/IP ports should be in the list by IP address.

I installed the HP TCP/IP ports, but I no longer have the option for the standard TCP/IP port. How can I add that back?
Go to Settings -> Printer -> Add Printer -> Local Printer -> Create New Port, "Standard TCP/IP Port" should be the last entry in the "Type of port" drop-down list.

That's just it. There ISN'T that option. That's what I want to add back. I was able to add back HP TCP/IP port, but the original that was there from the OS installation "Standard TCP/IP port" does NOT show up.
Ah, you did say that and I missed it... sorry.
The Standard TCP/IP Port is a built-in function of Windows 2003 Server - you *might* be able to reinstall it through Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Add/Remove Windows Components -> Networking Services or by running the Repair option from Windows 2003 Server setup.
Check your registry and see if these keys still exist, it may be that the port is still there but it doesn't show up in the dropdown:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentCon trolSet\Co ntrol\Prin t\Monitors \Standard TCP/IP Port
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentCon trolSet\Co ntrol\Prin t\Monitors \Standard TCP/IP Port\Ports

No, neither of those keys exists. Should I simply add them? I didn't see a way to add them through add/remove.

BTW, the file 'tcpmon.dll' is located in %SYSTEMROOT%\System32, on my Windows 2003 Servers running SP1 the file date is 3/24/2005, version 5.2.3790.1830.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
