We have an SBS2003 server:
The server has one network card (10.0.1.10)
The server is the DHCP server for the LAN
The DNS forwarders are set to the ISP's DNS servers
The server can ping
www.google.com and other sites without issue.
A client machine has the following IP setup:
IP Address: 10.0.1.56
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.0.1.1
DHCP server: 10.0.1.10
DNS servers: 10.0.1.10
Primary WINS server: 10.0.1.10
This machine:
Can ping other machines in the LAN via IP address
Can ping other machines on the LAN via NetBIOS name
Cannot ping the router via IP address
Cannot ping any internet domain names (although it does quote what the IP address is, it just times out)
Cannot ping any internet IP addresses
Running a repair procedure on the network card has no effect.
Any ideas?
