I' trying to send a note with 3M Post-it Notes between two PCs with Windows XP Media center & Windows XP under a fully operational local workgroup with both the Firewalls closed, but I'm receiving the above error. When I'm sending a note through internet (email through post-it) to my office PC everything works ok, both ways!
I found a same situation on your forum, advising to ...

"Try and change your registry
Solution to error 80070005
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ole]
"EnableDCOM"="Y"
"EnableRemoteConnect"="Y"
"LegacyAuthenticationLevel"=dword:1"

... as I had the exact error too, but when I've applied it to both my PCs the error just changed to:
Error 800706BA : 164 : Unable to connect to receiving computer.
