One client cant access internet suddenly

I have windows 2003 server and have about 10 clients. All of a sudden one of my client cant access the internet. I cant even ping yahoo or google dot com on the command prompt.
I tried using winsock to fix the registry and its same.

I had the same problems with another computer before, then i logged in as administrator, when i logged in the Windows Genuine Authentication popped up and i ran that ( say next and finish) then rebooted the pc and logged as the user and the internet worked.

is there any connections between both the scenarious? I need to pc online ASAP.

OK..

How is IP for your PC set up? Is it via DHCP? If so, please check if PC gets IP. If it is static - is it on the same subnet as others (sometimes small mistake in mask or gateway can cause huge problems). If you have static IP - try setting it to DHCP and run ipconfig /release and renew and see if any change.

Maybe you have played around internet connections (do you have some GPRS modem inserted?)

It has DHCP and I do get an IP address and i can also ping LAN pc s and server.
I did ipconfig /remove and renew....i still have the same problem.

The user really had to access internet so i connected using my backup internet ( using a wireless adapter) but now the user cant access his email and other stuff on the network ( this is a temporary solution until i fix the issue)

Anything u can think of?

are there any connections listed in IE > tools > connections??

Can you do traceroute? (cmd > tracert) and see where it stops

It dosent go anywhere! Just says request timed out from the first attempt.

Have you tried safemode with networking to see if it works that way? Also try removing and reinstalling the drivers for the network card if possible.

I made the IP address as Static and it works now.

I found out that I have two DHCP servers. One is from the shoretel VOIP box and the other one is my Sonicwall router( which is default ) for some reason, certein computers took the shoretel DHCP servr IP. Is there a way I can change?
