The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Playing games over VPN connection

Tags: Netgear, Netgear, DG834, two of the same routers on both ends
My friend and I have setup a end point vpn connections between our routers. I have Netgear DG834v2 router and he has DG834Gv3 router.

We have setup vpn connection fine, we can ping each other and games work when we use direct connect like Soldat, Half life 2 Deathmatch pretty much any game that allows direct IP connection.

I know that game broadcast their server and i also know that the broadcast is not going over the VPN link wether due to windows or the router we do not know. I have browsed this site and found out about GIT (gamers internet tunnel) which forwards the packets over the vpn link, however it does not work under my version of windows which is Vista Ultimate x64 edition(same as my friend's) and i would like to know weter there is a way in windows to forward the broadcasts over the vpn link.

Summary:
Specs
-Vista Ultimate x64 for both of us
-Netgear DG834v2 (DG834Gv3 for my friend)
Problem
-Game broadcasts do not pass through the VPN link
-GIT does not work on mine not his computer

If you need more detailed router details (like our lan ips and the like), i can post them, but like i said VPN link is working its just we need to send broadcasts over it.

Thank you for your time.
