VNC server: How to set the application to pop up a query window to require an active acceptance

I have VNC server working fine via a comcast router/firewall, and XP Pro SP2.
When someone requests to see my desktop, i'd like it to query me first and then i can manually accept or reject that request.

I have checked the box display query window, but that does not seem to have an effect -- the other person's attempt is instantly accepted and connected.

Any advice for what i can check or what i'm doing wrong?
