TRANS1/TRANS2 ?
In this output of a SHOW VLAN command on a 2900XL switch, what do the fields TRANS1 and TRANS2 refer to (containing values of 1002 & 1003 for VLAN 1)?

Short for translation 1 and translation 2
VLAN 1 is the "native" vlan designated by 1002 and 1003
You do not want them to be the same.

So what is being translated?
VLAN 1 is the native vlan, but what does it mean that it's designated by these two translations?
The translations on VLAN 2 are 0 and 0. But presumably they don't HAVE to be those values. What COULD they be?

I don't think you can delete those VLANs... I thought they were fixed... Give it a try though and see what happens

You are correct but it will also clear them in most cases .... what I was reffrencing was other VLAN's mainly...
You may want to delete all vlans and recreate all of them...

At this point I don't want to delete any VLANS. I just wanted to understand what the column headings referred to. Now I do. Thanks.
I do have a few more questions about VLANS.
I'll post them later.
