Lan withing a Lan

I have 2 winXP PRO machines.PC 1 has 2 NIC:
NIC 1: Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

        Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
        IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.10.175
        Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
        Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.10.1

NIC 2:Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:

        Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
        IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.1
        Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.0.0.0
        Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

NIC has internet connection through gateway pc.The problem is that i have shared my internet connection with Wingate for a long time and they worked fine with the previous cable net.But since i got this new cable net last week i have been struggling for making the PC2 use the internet through PC1 but to no avail. The settings for NIC1 did change as the new cable had different settings but rest remains all intavt so it shouldn`t cause problems with home entworking NIC2. Both PCs can ping/share each other but PC2 canNOT use its internet ?! i thought the problem was with WINXP ,formatted reinstalled but still the same.. so i thuoght wingate might be cauing problems, reinstalled .. nothing happened.. then decided to give Winproxy and ICS a try.. ICS says  "An error occured during configuration of the network on this computer" "You can configure your network manually,or you can run the wizard again with different settings"
I tried ICS with many diff. settings but no use.Whereas the winproxy would say: "winproxy was unable to communicate with the internet"
although i have the settings right! NIC1 with internet setup as EXternal and NIC2 as internal for home network. The Client PC2 has configuration:
IP: 10.0.0.2
Mask: 255.0.0.0
Gateway: 10.0.0.1
and the Internet explorer setup with right ports and proxy.
When the request is sent the Server PC1 proxy receives the request but doesnt send any data back..I think now that the problem lies with some Routing . here is the Route data if it could help:

I suggest you configure PC2 to the same IP subnet as PC1, ie. 192.168.10.x. Btw, did you enable IP routing on PC1 ?
Ops. Sorry. Ignore the previous statement.

You have to add in a route for your 10.x.x.x network on PC1. Do a "route add 10.0.0.0 mask 255.0.0.0 10.0.0.1 metric 20 -p".
And:

route add 10.0.0.1 mask 255.255.255.255 127.0.0.1 metric 20 -p
route add 10.255.255.255 mask 255.255.255.255 10.0.0.1 metric 20 -p

I guess that the PC1 needs to bridge my cable internet (NIC1) and home LAN(NIC2) connections , but when i try to do so my computer reboots.Could there be some other problem ? Really appreciate your quick response.
Reboots ? After you add in the routes it reboot ? Did you enable IP routing ?
Try pinging all the PCs/Servers in the different network segments & see if they can reach each other. If you have any firewalls, disable them first.
How do i enable ip routing ? btw i did not add these routes after you told they were already present ,and yes ,all the PCs can ping each other :
PC1 : NIC1 192.168.10.175 can ping the cable gateway and other pcs on that workgroup and even access shares ;
PC1: NIC2  10.0.0.1 can ping the pc at home with 10.0.0.2 ip and access its shares;
PC2 (10.0.0.2) can also ping PC1 and access its shares..
The problem is with sharing the internet connection.. although the proxy server Wingate receives connection requests from the client PC2 it does ot send back data to it... resulting in page not found (refresh) error of browser..
I also tred winproxy trial ver. which also receives the connection requests but simply does not send data back to client pcs.
You enable routing by going to Services & starting Routing & Remote Access. Try not to use Winproxy & see if it works. If not, then try it with Winproxy.

From what I remember, if you're using a proxy software, the application will do the necessary changes on the machine for you. Do you have the latest version of Winproxy for your OS ?
I'm going off. Have an appointment. If it's urgent, post a message to point to this URL: "https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20809592/Lan-withing-a-Lan.html" & put "Urgent" in your Subject. Other experts will be able to help & point out something if I've overlooked it.
Any luck on this so far ?
I enabled the Routing  and then i removed the proxy and bridged both my LAN connections. It worked!
But i want to be able to use a private LAN i.e. a separate 10.0.0.xx subnet for my home network and not the same as 192.168.10.xx my cable network... I am still trying.. i am getting kindof sure now that its not the routing or the proxy server but there has to be something else wrong ..
When you configure your internal network to 10.0.0.x subnet, what error messages do you receive ? Are you able to ping PC1 from PC2 ? If you're able to, try pinging an Internet IP address & do a traceroute from a command prompt of PC1 to some Internet host & post the result here for us to check. I suspect it's a routing issue.

Another alternative is to do away with Winproxy altogether, configure all NICs to accept DHCP, stop Routing & Remote Access & enable Internet Connection Sharing on PC1. This step is more straightforward as the Windows OS will handle the necessary changes without "user" intervention.

Let us know how it goes.
ping pc1 from pc2 and pc2 from pc1 works perfect and i cant even share/browse both pcs..
i found something strange .. take a look at this:

this is supposed to be my gateway cablenet server and it on teh same lan as i am that is 192.168.10.175

I think it should be max 1 hops??
and also when i trace my own ip:

what is this?? have alook at my routes once again :

Even though it's for ping, it applies to traceroute as well since both uses ICMP.
Did the above solve your problem ? So it was the firewall then.

Thanks for the points.
Well, actually no..The removal of zone alarm sure did solve half of my network problems.. like traceroute errors.. ping errors and NOT being able to see network PCs errors.. but still i can NOT share my internet connection.. Hence i will be getting another IP from my ISP and Pay extra money for it :(
But you deserved the points as you tried alot.. :) thankx
