***** Help needed with the cleanup - Networking *****
Dear experts,
One of the biggest troubles here in Experts Exchange are the users that do not close their questions. That's why we are organizing the cleanup effort. This serves two purposes:
1. To close all these abandoned questions and fill the database with the answers where they are provided or to delete the question if it is unanswered
2. To give the points to all the experts that had earned them but due to the Asker's disappearing, they had never received.
But to do this, we need help from the experts in each area - to post recommendations in the questions.

Heya! Kabaam pointed me in this direction and indicated you might be seeking some assistance in closing up some of these questions. If that is still the case, then I could offer assistance in that area. I am comfortable helping in the fopllowing areas if you need assistance in any of them:

Yes. I've got the general idea. I went through the link above and it seems pretty straight forward.

I am only hazy about one thing Annie. Do I post under my own name or is there something I need to do to get that "Administrative Comment" to appear so they know it is from a cleanup volunteer?

AnnieMod...I did about half of them, but after doing several, I have figured out that I am literally at a time loss between work, college, and doing this. I barely have time to check in with EE just to check questions and answer them. I'm going to have to regrettfully back down from continuing. I will contact you when I have more time and then I will be happy to help.

I have read the help page and it all seems fairly clear. I have just installed QuickPost and I am getting used to that at the moment and I think it will make the pocess a lot easier.

Sorry about the "FASTCAT FORMAT". I did not know it was a different tool and just assumed it was to identify a standard way of posting the recomendations with the specific post ID's in brackets after the username. I will make sure I remove the text from future cleanup posts.

A quick question.
What is your policy if an author asks a question on how to cure a problem but does not give a lot of details. A couple of people reply with suggestions that could have fixed the problem but the author never returned to confirm?
For example:-

I recomended delete but it was a borderline decision. If the author for example had mentioned that it was the Roxio software he deinstalled I would have accepted the last answer.
