Create Windows XP Domain

How do I create a domain on a home network with four computers all running Windows XP Pro, connected through a 3com Home Ethernet Gateway / Print Server, to a cable modem?

If I can't create a domain, then how would I install Apache Web server on Windows XP? The Apache installation wizard asks for a Network Domain. Sorry this is not a new question, just an extension of my earlier one. What I'm trying to achieve is a home Intranet with an Apache Web Server - seems it requires a domain, that's why I asked the original question. I apologize for not stating this at the outset.
Then I believe you need a machine dedicated to housing a sever OS that can create Domains.
I'm not familiar with Apache - but I did find this link on how to install it on XP...http://freemind.sourceforge.net/docs/Serving%20Freemind%20maps%20in%20a%20browser/apache.html
You could use Linux and install Apache on it.

I already had the install procedures from
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/windows.html
but none of the procedures tell me how to deal with the domain issue.

Follow-up Question for Crazyone: On the dedicated machine can Windows XP Pro be configured as a server OS or do I need to go to something like Windows 2000 Server or Server 2003? (Don't want to go the Linux route)

BTW I successfully installed it on my XP PRO machine. I have no Idea how to use it but it did install. I was reading some of the documents and the developers hinted that Apache security wise on Windows has some problems that are suppose to be address if and when version 2.0 is released

I think I'm going to get working on the >>>or part now.

Thanks to both sirbounty and CrazyOne. Do you guys mind if I split the points down the middle? Both of you helped kick me in the right direction...
No problem with me. I am curious though any reason you don't want to use IIS and .NET?

Have been using that combo with W2K and WinXP and it works fine. Just wanted to see how the Apache/PHP/MySQL combo worked on my Windows system. Morbid curiousity I guess... :)

Earth to sirbounty, earth to sirbounty - do you concur with the split?
use localhost as the domain
