### Closing the old questions in Networking###

Hello experts,

As you had probably noticed, there is an organized effort to get all the abandoned questions closed (abandoned question is a question that has not comments for 22 or more days). This way we move the really answered questions in the PAQs and delete the nonanswered ones. And of course all the experts that had answered questions get their points - although it is not the Primary function of the cleanup, it is something that is also a plus:).

If you are interested in helping, please read this:
https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hs7

If you are still interested, please post here with whatever questions you may have for the process. In case you decide it is not for you - please if you see such recommendation in a question that you had participated in, take your time to object if needed or to post your opinion if you are asked for it.

Thanks in advance to anyone that will decide to help.

If you want to help in another area, check the area for such question, post here specifying the area or send me a mail.

Done with April and May 2004 :)

Bob
Cleaning everything from July 2003 - July 2004 :)

Bob
Ok, cleaning everything from July 2003 - June 2004 (leaving out July 2004) :)

Bob
That should be 1297 questions for 14 July 2003 - 30 June 2004 :)

Bob
I have been on holiday for the last couple of weeks.

I can start helping again next week when things have settled down.
I can start helping out again. Having problems with fastcat at the moment and I am waiting back from boomod.
Slow.  Pushing hard on my job search and other important things, like transferring my 401k, so I haven't given cleaning as much effort as I normally do.

Bob
> The question is what you try on it when you have no range:) Want a range? :)

Installing it on my work machine in anticipation ;)
Done with 14 July 2003 - 30 June 2004 :)

Bob
Taking August 2004 :)

Ur velcome.

Bob
Done with August 2004 :)

Bob
Taking September 2004 :)

Bob
I have finished July.

Gareth
Will do. Fastcat is good at pointing out when a question hasn't been abandoned.
Done with September 2004 :)

Bob
Done :)

Ur velcome.

Bob
TheLearnedOne - You have made recomendations on some ones I have pinged.
Please could you not post your recomendations for these (22nd to 26th november).
Annie,

Thank you for straightening that out.  I will continue with the assigned range of anything September 30 2004 or older.  :)

Bob
OK thats fine. Sorry the dates I posted were the dates I pinged them not the date of the orignal posting.

I think this area needs to be clarified on your instructions you send to everyone.
Personally I would have thought that the fact that the last post was a week ago or less and it said a recomendation would be made it a week it would have been left.
Thanks for the clarification. I have modified my script now so the ping is 4 days.
OK.  Misreading PINGs in questions duly noted (the mind plays interesting games sometimes).  I will take this as a learning experience, since this is the first time that I have been assigned a range with recent PINGs and recommendations posted.

Bob
Finished my range apart from some pings I will get back to by the end of next week.
There are 7 open questions older than 1 October 2004.  Would you like me to leave this TA for others after they are done?

Bob
Carefully taking 16 October - 15 November :)

Bob
Annie,

Since you are going to be off for a while, why don't you give me another range, so I can keep going :)

Bob
I finished with the range from 1 Nov - 27 Dec 2004.  Would you like me to go back and get the older questions?

Bob
PING :)

Bob
Ok, thanks.  You must be feeling better, then :)

Bob
Is there anybody out there, subscribed to this question?

Bob
I am but I no longer have time to help out with the cleanup.
Feel free to remove my priviledges.

Gareth
Gareth,

I was just cleaning up the Networking area, and I was wondering if you had any ranges assigned.  If not, then I can continue and clean up the entire area.

Annie has been out for a while, and I didn't want this topic area to get too dirty.

Thanks,
Bob
Bob -

I'm still subscribed, too, but I never had a range here.

AnnieMod has been less active, but she's still available. Try her email if you need a range assignment -- if that doesn't work, contact Netminder. That might be better than passing ranges from volunteer to volunteer.

Annie lost her job, and has been off-line for a while, so I was taking it on myself to find out if any other CVs had ranges assigned.

Bob
AnnieMod's not exactly offline:

just much less active.

It's not my place to tell Cleanup volunteers what to do, but I had gained the strong impression that taking certain kinds of initiative -- such as cleaning a range assigned to someone else -- was to be avoided unless cleared through the powers-that be.

I have no ranges assigned in this area.
Sorry, I was confused about what you explained.  I will try better to understand your explanations next time ;)  And you're right, an email would have worked.

Bob
I am coming to end of the assigned range, and I was trying to figure out where to go to next.

Thanks,
Bob
Done with Jan 14 2005 - Mar 14 2005 :)

Bob
Taking February - April :)

Bob
I looked back and missed a couple that hadn't come into my range at the time, because of 21 day rule, but now they have, so I'm mopping the mess up.

It usually helps to double check myself every once in a while :)

Thanks,
Bob
Done with Feb - April 2005 :)

Bob
PING :)
Awesome!!! Taking May 2005

10x =:)

Bob
Done with May 2005 :D

Bob
Taking June 2005 carefully ;)

Bob
If you need a hand with clean up of network area, please let me know.
