I disagree with you about that Q, can you give me a light about why it should be "delete - no refund"? because i see that there is only one post was giving the answer but the asker is not responding, and since the expert give him a light and the asker didn't respond then he deserve to be rewarded, and his answer worth to be PAQ.

in my point of view i prefer "PAQ - No Refund".

As per the manual :

PAQ - No Refund
    Use when the Experts have given good information to a relatively good question, but have not given a workable solution, and the Asker has stopped responding to the Experts' questions and comments. It's the worst option: If the question has enough information to be called an answer, then someone's comments should be selected; if not, then the question should be deleted.

and your opinion was:
Delete - No Refund
    The question and the comments aren't worth keeping, but the Asker has given no reason to refund his points. You'll know these when you see them.

Which is not applicable for such questions..

In my opinion, the links to "how to" do not address the real issues of the question. "I can establish the VPN, but cannot do X,Y,Z" "Can someone walk me through step by step"
Posting a link to setting up VPN on Wondows 2K3 does not at all adress this asker's particular question about using Windows 2000.
Simply posting a link to everything you ever wanted to know about establishing a VPN was of little value to this asker and therefore of little value to the PAQ, although one of the links inside that microsoft page led to a troubleshooting section.

The no refund part is easy because the asker never came back and said something like "nice try, but  I need more help"

Keith, Unfortunately I'm back to work since the 4th feb, which means "i wish i would have time to scratch my head" .

lol, all of August is done :)  My fastcat played around so the 10 -ish calls left there have recommendations against them but they did not get pushed as a 'post'. I've got to go through and manually enter them for a Mod to deal with them apparently :(

There was a push on the site a few days back and the only tool still wotking is FastCat.

So - do not wory - the closing will take a few days more thanm usual.... That's all

Annie- I believe I am familiar with the cleanup process, however I will go back and re-read the entire posting on the process to ensure I understand all steps.  Basically the way I understand it, is you assign a range, I paste the standard cleanup post, with a recommendation on which question to accept, I keep track of all questions in a notepad file, then once I've done a batch I post it into the cleanup TA in the Community Support area.

If I do run across any questions once I get going, I will be sure to e-mail you before making any mistakes. :)

I have re-read the process and feel confident that I can assist you as soon as you are ready for me to begin.  

I know I have not been actively posting for very long so I will not take offence if you do wish to monitor me over the next while.

:) Thanks. I'm on UK time so I get home around 7GMT then do 3 hours on here whilst the US in still active. Most is calls obviously but I try to cleanup at least 10 a night. With the tools available, this gets quicker and easier the more you do really. My turn is coming, we are approaching the end of our fiscal year and when that comes I will disappear off the face of the planet for a short period. Netminder has found me a Page Editor's spot on one of the more bizarre (read this as hardly used....) Topic Areas so this will complete the rest of my day I expect. Firewalls and MS Networking were already fully covered by PE's :(

Yes - you can. As long as you have 20 per person :) Just do not do it way too often but this is the usual way to handle questions like
"Best practices for..."
"Which is the best router/language/whatever"
"What do you think for this setup"

I use the PAQ no refund - as the question wasn't really answered, or the questioner didn't need the answers anymore but the suggestions posted might be useful since they were good suggestions.  

If they're good suggestions for troubleshooting but the questioner doesn't want/need them - EE doesn't want to hold onto them in the db?  Rather delete?

PAQ - no refunds fill the database with no answers... and the newbies which pay just to se this solution get angry :)

So the rule is:
IS this an answer - yes - award the points;no - delete :)

Then it is gone. If it is answered - keep it; otherwise it is toast.
