Setting up PPTP/L2TP on Cisco ASA for remote access clients

I have a Cisco ASA 5510 that I am trying to configure for remote access VPN.  I need it to work with regular OS -based VPN clients in addition to Cisco's client.  I think to make this work I will need to enable PPTP/L2TP on the ASA but I do not know how to do this.  I have been (rather embarrassingly) relying on the VPN wizard in ADSM to try and make this work but there seems to be no options for adding in this support after the VPN config is created.

Can someone point me to documentation or tell me how to create PPTP/L2TP compatibility through ADSM?

The ASA doesn't support PPTP, only L2TP.  Here is a link for the L2TP setup:

The ASA supports PPTP passthrough, but the ASA cannot itself be a PPTP server.  Here is a link for setting up PPTP passthrough:

This looks to be exactly what I need but I have run into a snag.

I go into the ADSM to create the transform set in transport mode, but there is no option to set the new set as transport.  All the other sets are tunnel.

What do I have to do to enable configuring transform sets at transport within ADSM?

From the cisco docs:

"Step 1 Add an IPSec transform set, and specify IPSec to use transport mode rather than tunnel mode."

This is the option that is not available to me.  I do not get to choose to make the set tunnel or transport.

Hopefully I am being stupid and just missing something but it is just not there for me even though it is illustrated in both sets of docs.

Blargh

I created the transform set on the command line and as soon as I tried to specifiy the mode on the set it failed as if it did not recognize the mode part of the command.

What version of code are you running for OS and ASDM images?  I just tried it with ASA 7.2(2) and ASDM version 5.2(2) and it worked fine.

Have already done so.  I do have the config options available to me now.

While I have not actually got the config to work correctly, I have enabled L2TP on the ASA so I am closing the case and awarding the points.
