The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

NAC appliance / problem with roles

Asked by norbert_999 in Network Security, Virtual Private Networking (VPN), Security Software

hello,

Im trying to integrate NAC appliance(inband virtual gateway) with ASA (as vpn gateway) and IAS radius server (users from AD).

Ive managed to acomplish authentication with IAS:
vpn users after connecting to ASA are authenticated with AD credentials and vpn connection is being established. However NAC appliance does not permit any traffic sourced from that users to pass throught it to destinations networks I want to access. Ive created vpn_test role on NAC manager with policy to allow the whole traffic but it seams that none of the policies are working correctly.

What is more I don't know why mapping rules to specific roles doesn't work properly. Ive ommited this step by using default mapping to specific role but as I said earlier none of the policy is working.

My testing network diagram is sth like this:
                                                                               (both int have
(vpn pool                                 out       in                 the same add)
192.168.0.10)               10.1.206.2     10.1.205.4   10.1.205.5             10.1.205.1        10.1.200.84
vpn client ----- INTERNET ----------- ASA --------------- NAC ---------------------------switch ----------- IAS
                                                                                                                              |
                                                                                                                              |
                                                                                                                           NAM (10.1.207.3)

After vpn tunnel is established, client is able to ping 10.1.205.5 but not 10.1.205.1 so I think that the problem is with NAC roles and policies but after reading conf guide of NAC and doing as it discribes it still doesn't work

Where could be a problem? And what are the possible steps to diagnose it?
please any help will be appreciated
