The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

BLF with Cisco CME and 7931 phones

Hello,

I'm not sure I entirely understand how BLF functions on the Cisco 7931G phones with Cisco CME.
We are a small business striving to give a human response to every call (we don't use any auto attendants / voice mail / IVR / etc). Thus, every employee becomes an operator, answering external phone calls and transferring calls inside the organization. Therefore, it's very important that every employee is able to monitor the status of the other users (are they on the phone? is their extensions ringing with no answer?). At a glance, it seems like the Cisco 7931G provides just the solution with 24 BLF keys. Since we are only 15 employees, I can assign a lighted key to each employee.

The scenario is simple: When someone calls the office, anyone of the employees can pickup the call. The customer then asks to speak with employee X. The answering employee looks at his 7931G phone, sees that employee X is on the phone and notifies the customer, allowing him to hold, leave a message or perhaps offer to speak with someone else who can assist him/her. If employee X is available, the call is transferred to him by pressing his BLF key.

But diving deeper into the phone description it seems like these keys can only be assigned to "lines" and I'm not entirely sure things will work as I intend them to. If someone could provide more information on the subject I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
