Cisco IP Communicator not registering through internet

We have Call Manager 6.1.1 setup with a public IP address with appropriate Ports open through our Cisco ASA.  I have tested connectivity.  Internally the Cisco IP Communicator comes up smoothy, when I try to connect over the internet the softphone stays at "registering" and never comes up.

I do have both public and private ip addresses setup in the Network TFTP settings.  Is there anything that I may need to setup further on Call Manager or the software?

I'm sure you could hack the crap out of ure firewall however your are going to leave it very very exposed! You don't want just anyone to be able to connect to you're CallManager.
VPN is the way to go, you already have the equiptment!
u need to configure VPDN on Router, then u will be able to connect VPN over Internet by using dial up VPN
