Browse All TopicsHello, I was using the Vonage VoIP service with a Linksys PAP2 adapter, I cancelled my account because I decided change to another provider (Broadvoice), but I was not aware that my adapter is locked with Vonage. There is a way to unlock the PAP2 adapter to work with any other company?
Thanks in advance,

The quickest way is to buy another SAME MODEL Linksys PAP2 adapter from FRYS, Office Depot , Staples et al (retailers that have inventory and allow returns WITHOUT restocking fees). Return the previously activated unit in its original (must look new) box.
BRAND NEW Linksys PAP2 adapter are not locked by VONAGE until you connect it to the internet SO DON'T. You must change the SIP PARAMETERS of the device from your pc using IE, remember to remove the URL address of VONAGE that does the TFTP direct download and upgrade of the PAP firmware.

Not that I have seen. I have head of some people burning new eproms for it but the word I keep hearing is that the lock is built into the firmware with no means of unlocking it. You need the administrator password that Vonage is not giving out to anyone.
