Any suggestions as to what devices I can use to get this done in a cost effective manner.
This does not have to be the best device in the world, just something cheap and easy that gets it done.
Thanks!

Browse All TopicsHi,
I have an Avaya Partner ACS System (newest release). I would like to connect it to a remote office using VOIP or similar. I would rather use the Avaya phone in the remote office, however I realize that this may not be possible. What equipment do I need to get this done? Has anyone who has done something similar offer any advice.
Thanks!

moruda,
Something like the Linksys - Sipura SPA-3000 should work. A great site for VoIP equipment is http://www.voipsupply.com

Moruda,
ernet-->IP Phone
ernet<--SI P(VoIP)<-- FXS<--Anal og phone
There are currently no gateways that support the Avaya ACS digital phones (there are a few for other Avaya systems). The best bet would be to come of the ACS extenstion ports as an analog extenstion, terminate that into an VoiP gateway supporting FXO. Then the call is transported via the means that the VoIP gateway supports, lets sy SIP. Then that SIP stream is terminated by either a VoIP phone endpoint or another gateway that supports analog FXS that can use an analog phone.
ACS-->Ext 15-->FXO-->SIP(VoIP)-->Int
ACS-->Ext 15-->FXO-->SIP(VoIP)-->Int
The drawback to this is that you will need to use feature codes to use the phone in any arrangment, the good news is you can preprogram soft keys to do it.
