Headsets for Cisco 7911G/7912G telephones

Is it possible to use headsets with Cisco 7911G/7912G telephones? I know that they don't have a headphone sockets as well as the handset socket as the higher models do, but is is possible to plug a headset into the handset socket?
I'm thinking probably not as the off-hook button would obviously not be controlled by the headset but is would be good if someone could confirm.

It is possible with certain headsets. Some have a "lifter" that attaches to the phone that barely lifts the handset when you press the call button on the headset. Plantronics has a very wide variety to choose from that will work with your phone.

Thanks, I see now, the headset base station plugs into the handset socket on the phone and the handset plugs into the headset and you get a lifter for the off hook button.
The lifter seems like a low tech solution, but I spose it does the job!
