Can I block outgoing caller ID info from Cisco IP 7900 phones?

Am I able to configure Call Manager software to block the phone extension of an outgoing call? (example: from a Collections department)

Caller ID Blocking This field configures caller ID blocking. When blocking is enabled, the
phone blocks its own number or e-mail address from phones that have
caller identification enabled. Valid values follow:
" OffDisabled permanently and cannot be turned on and off locally
by using the user interface.
" OnEnabled permanently and cannot be turned on and off locally
by using the user interface.

Call Preference Parameters
Table A-7 describes the call preference parameters that you can view through a phone's profile or through the Call Preferences area on the phone's web page. These parameters specify various user features on the phone.

Tip To access the Call Preferences area directly from a web browser, enter IP_address/CallPrefConfiguration, where IP_address is the IP address of your Cisco Unified IP Phone.

Block Caller ID
(on web page)

BlockCallerId
(in profile)
 Whether a phone's caller ID information, which includes the value specified by the Display Name parameter and the phone number, is sent with an outgoing call. If this parameter is enabled, outgoing calls will use "Anonymous" as the phone's caller ID.

"0=Do not block outgoing caller ID information.

"1=Block outgoing caller ID information.

Value type: Boolean.

Default value: 0

Thanks for the suggestion, and I was told by a co-worker, in newer versions of CCM the setting is much more simple.  I, unfortunately, am working with version 4.1 and that setting doesn't exist...I believe.  The guide that you referred me to is for 5.0(2).

Hi,

although I am not overly familiar with 4, I can guarantee this will be the same. As far as I understand it, you want to hide the calling number when making calls to the PSTN?

If so, all you need to do is create / modify a route pattern for the calls you want to make, and select these two options under calling party transformations:-

Calling Line ID Presentation -  Restricted
Calling Name Presentation -  Restricted

You can eiter use calling search spaces and partitions to choose if some users are presenting caller ID or not, or you can use a specific access code. For example, on our phone system we emulate the BT network and use the access code "9141" to hide the calling number.

If you wanted to do this internally, you could use a transformation pattern to control it in the same way.
