We moved into a new house recently where the BT landline needs to be reconnected at a cost of £125 or thereabouts.
Thought I might try a 3G router, Vodafone card and Skype for voice.
Did a bit of research and it appeared that Vodafone used to block the service, but no longer do...great.
So setup the router and got hold of a wifi Skype phone.
I have found that I can not visit the Skype website on my laptop - get a page saying it's been blocked by Vodafone content control, which they say is there to prevent under 18s accessing unsuitable sites.
However, the Skype phone connects ok and can receive calls. But it can't dial out. If I use Skype on my laptop, it can dial out.
Any ideas how to resolve this. Can I simply get Vodafone to remove the content control?
