When we share the extension of the main number, incoming calls go straight to voicemail when someone is on the main line (we have 10 incoming voice channels on our PRI). Is there a way to fix that? Thanks for your help!

The 7940 has 2 line buttons, we have Line 1 - (User extension), Line 2 - (Main Number) so when the main number rings, Line 2 on every phone rings. Line 2 can be set to ring audibly or silently just flashing.
We have it silent but have the Main Phone on a different ring pattern in the middle of the office so everyone can hear it ringing without all 30 extensions ringing! No one touches the main phone, it just rings and the first person tp pick up Line 2 takes the call.

You should be able to set them all up in a hunt group and set the hunt group to ring all group phones at once.
Use the main number as the pilot number for the hunt group
Else set all phones with a "share" extension of the main number. All phones that share the same number should all ring at same time.
