Question

Cisco FXS card. Attached phone does not ring

Asked by: systems_mitsui

Hi

I have installed an 4-fxs/did card into a cisco 2801. I have attached a phone to one of the interfaces and can make calls on that phone to IP phones in the office however when I try to call the phone it doesnt ring but I do hear ringing on the phone I call from.

The gateway talks to call manager via H.323 and I have setup a route pattern on call manager for the number I want to assign to the analog phone (354822) This seems to be working as I can see the following when I call that number and have debug vpm all running:

*Jun 12 11:13:47.203: htsp_timer_stop3 htsp_setup_req
*Jun 12 11:13:47.203: htsp_process_event: [0/2/1, FXSLS_ONHOOK, E_HTSP_SETUP_REQ]fxsls_onhook_setup

when you call and pick up the phone when its ringing do you have call established?
I think that the router has trouble with the other dial peers matching your number ie
dial-peer voice 5 pots
 destination-pattern 354822
dial-peer voice 11 voip
 destination-pattern 354...
they are the same
to test you could change the number to 3554822
