trouble with sounds on asterisk

Im having major troubles with sounds on asterisk.
I cant hear anything.

ive created voice overs in windows recorder.

ive then brought into another program and converted it to a gsm file and wav using the following settings.

8khz, 16 bit mono, *.gsm.

But when i add it to the ivr menu I can t hear anything just blank noise.
