Following on from similarly named question in respect of krone 2 pole connections.
In respect of 4 pole krone connections:
The purpose of this post is the check my understanding of the proper use of certain cables. Any comment to the effect that this is correct or otherwise etc appreciated.
These cables came with an analyser (Nettest Lite 3000 E. Vendor seems renamed/absorbed into Anritsu.com).
I need to examine an E1 trunk between an NEC PBX and a Cisco AS5400 IOS Voice gateway.
The E1 link itself comprises 2 copper pairs running through an MDF, each pair connected via Krone strip connectors.
The Analyser accessories inventory names certain cables as "four pole krone" cables. It takes the form
Four Pole krone connector-----------------
------BNO
A diagram is attached.
As I understand the 4 pole krone connector BREAKS a connection with an existing copper pair and replaces it effectively with an alternative connection. This alternative connection would then run through the measuring device (ISDN analyser in my case). The analyser then is connected in series, and the electrical current flows through the analyser. In my case with 2 pairs making up an E1 link, 2 such cables would be required.
This is depicted in the diagram.
Any comments thus far appreciated.
The problem with this theory for me is as follows:
The cable between the 4-pole krone and BNO must then be 4 wires/2pairs. How would 4 terminals be accommodated at the BNO end?
Once again any comment appreciated.
