DSL sharing for two computers.

I have to computers in my house and only has dsl connection . Both Pc's have windows xp install. I was wondering what can I do in order to have both computers share the same dsl connection. I heard something about a router for dsl but I really dont know much about networking. After having both Pc's connected to the same dsl connection, would both computers be slower in the connection?Would I be able to use both computers at the same time? Please explain as much as possible. If possible can somebody tell me step by step what to do? Please list all material or hardware i'll need for this project. Thanks alot.
