We are implementing Shoretel phone system. Have Mitel 3300. Can call from system to system but cannot access external line from Shoretel through Mitel. Should be able to dial 9 for an outside line and it gets rejected. Any ideas?

Take a look at your absorb in the trunk circuit descriptor, make sure you absorb 0 (no good if it is just left blank), and I would not strip anything coming out of the shoretel, meaning let the whole string 9xxxxx go through then the Mitel is going to be able to route it. If you send only the area code without the 9 and you don't have an entry in the automatic route selection it won't work.

I haven't put a reply in here yet as I was so stunned that you would have bought a Shoretel after having a Mitel.....but alas, I cannot keep quiet.
I know nothing of Shoretel except all the horror stories I've heard on implementation and trying to program the thing and get it to actually work, continually....so I wish you luck.
But let me pop a few questions at you.
Have you stripped digits off the shoretel? If you're sending a 9+1+AC+# call through from shoretel via SIP ( I assume ) then you would need to strip 9 and 1, is the shoretel doing that?
Did you get Mitel to run CCS trace to see what you're getting in from the shoretel?
If you're getting rejected then the Mitel doesn't like something.
