That sounds like pretty cool stuff and may be an option.
What we are trying to do is use Microsoft Exchange 2007 Unified Mesaging with Cisco Call Mananger 6.1
when we try to send a fax it ends up on the exchange server as an audio file. As I understand it Call Manager can detect if it is a fax and then send the information to exchange as a T.38 fax and exchange will attach it to an Email as a Tiff file.
You can also have Exchange detect the fax tones and then process it as a fax.
I found this thread and it sounds like at one point this would not work because it seems Call Manager and Microsoft don't handle T.38 the same way. Just wanted to see if this is correct.

What exactly are you trying to set up ? I believe you are actually referring to T.37 offramp / onramp faxing where i.e. a Cisco gateway will be connected to the PSTN, receive an incoming fax and drop it in a user's mailbox (or the other way round), is that what you are trying to achieve ?

While I'm not sure if there are any specific issues with Exchange 2007, this sort of thing can be set up.
Have a look at this document for configuration guidelines :

This is quite a tricky thing to set up though, don't expect to get it going very easily :)
Be sure to check i.e. that the Cisco gateway is allowed to make a connection to your mailserver.
