Unfortunately I don't control the MGC and it is at a remote location and in production, so I can't move it to a local segment. The MGC has been working for 4-5 years and the 8000 & 9000 are the only units that I have that can't connect to them. The 3 year old 7000 connects with no problem.
There is no firewall on our side blocking ports. Both sites connect to the Internet with a Verizon DS3.
Does the 8000/9000 use a different range of ports then the 7000?

Test them on local LAN, if possible, just make sure no mistakes made in operational procidures. Cperforman ceTools/ test speed/ports PC-to-PC on each end.
Then seperate them by any router and verify all ports to be open for normal operation, as well consult with tech support of any "tricks" you might not aware of.
Over WAN use http://avcontrol.tv/pics/P
As well use any other port scanning tools/website, to find out for sure which ports are blocked over WAN, which ISP is doin it,and prove them on that blockage. They ussialy will not admit very easy- you have to get to right person.
Other options NATing was not set correctly by local admins.
