Is it possible to just straight up upgrade my XP Pro IIS to version 6 or is that with just Server 2003?
the problem is, when I try to install IIS on my XP Pro, there are a few files it can't find, ones that are directly related to IIS 6 such as adsutil.vbs that can't be found on the XP SP2 CD nor the XP Pro CD. For some reason it keeps asking me for these few files....usually you just need to pop in the XP Pro CD or SP 2 but for some reason at work, the images here, when I try to install IIS it always can't find that file and a couple of others. I end up grabbing adsutil.vbs off a server of ours and I'm not even sure that's safe or the right version of this file.
I just want to update to IIS 6 on my XP Pro client to possible get around this?
other files that can't be found are seo.dll, smtpadm.dll, rwnh.dll
I have to pull them from our servers...somehow this doesn't feel right to me. I don't have this problem when trying to install IIS on my home XP Pro machines....just here on these for some reason. Usually at home I just pop in whatever CD it asks during the IIS install and it works fine (it usually asks for the XP Pro and SP2 CD).
