WinXP - Setting up mandatory profiles
Hi!
I'm trying to set up a mandatory profile to use with a number of computers. I'm running a samba 2.8 that handles the logins, and in the smb.conf i have added
logon path=\\%L\profile\default
and the sharepoint is also specified in smb.conf.
I then create a new profile locally on my computer and creates the profile I want to have as mandatory, I then copy the entire profile to the profile share and rename the ntuser.dat to ntuser.man. But when I log on to the domain windows does not load the ntuser.man but the \\HKEY_USER\.DEFAULT settings. Other files from the default profile, like the startmenu objects are transferred okay.
As I understand it the logon path setting in smb.conf replaces the profile path setting in a local user account, can anyone confirm that? Does anyone have a clue to why this is not working?
Regards, Linus
