Vista - Random Disconnects

Dealing with a Vista Business system here.

It kept on randomly disconnecting from the internet.

Setup was like this

router ------------- hub ----------------------- pc

Virus scan was tried,  Winsock fix applied, disabling IPV6. Still same problem.

So in order to troubleshoot further, I disabled the network card and installed a PCI wireless card and set up a wireless link...but still the same problem happens?

I tried wireless on another laptop, to test the wireless connection and it worked perfect...only strange but I did notice was that when I did an ipconfig - I got a totally different Default Gateway than on the desktop giving trouble. (it was definitely exact same network). Could this be the issue?
