Networking Problem

There are 7 PCs running Windows 2000, 4 Macs  and one PC running Small Business Server 2003.  There are two mapped drives that all PCs and Mac connect to for file storage.  Both mapped drives are on the same PC that is running Server 2003.  They are setup to connect automatically when you log on to the domain or Turn on your mac.  The problem is that only 2 Pcs and the 4 Macs are connected at all times; the remaining 5 PCs loose their connection to the mapped drive after a while.  I know this because every morning I have to restart those 5 computers to access the mapped drives and they are always connected when I leave by 7 pm.  So something happens either at night or anytime after I leave.

Here is something else  I have noticed that I also loose connection to all printers only off of those 5 PCs that were installed by browsing "browsing and selecting" method.  That is if I did not use an install CD but instead browse for a network printer and install (for which I do not need a CD; it automatically downloads the driver) windows cannot open those printer after a few hours of installing them.  But the other printers I installed using an install CD do not disconnect.

Also when I restart those computer and I am able to connect to the mapped drives the printers are  still not available; to gain access to them I have to delete them and install them again.

Also every night around 12:00 am the server backs up the the mapped drives to one of the PCs (one of the 2 PCs that does not loose its connection to the mapped drives) I think it mirrors it.

Any Help will be greatly appreciated.Start Free Trial
