Tags:FW1: ndis_allocate_packet: Cannot allocate new packets
One of my customers has raised an issue with me whereby he received an update (he couldnt note what the update was) via SMS to his laptop and now finds that his machine freezes randomly and only a reboot fixes the issue. I have checked the event log and there are loads of entries in a contiguous line on the 'system' tab with the error 'FW1: ndis_allocate_packet: Cannot allocate new packets'. I have read on a few forums on the net that this could be caused by an incorrect BufferPoolSize within HKLM in the registry This contiguous entry occurs just after the time of the SMS update. The laptop is an IBM Thnkpad T43 running XPPro (with SP2) and office2003. Any help you could give would be appreciated.
