My WRVS4400N isn't passing windows traffic - what am I doing wrong?

Hi All-

I have a Linksys WRVS4400N that has been a real pain in the butt so far.  I am actually on my second unit, the first had issues that degraded into hardware failure.

My issue is this - the VPN setup is so simple.. and yet such a nightmare.  In the admin you simply turn it on, config a username and password.  That's it!

I can authenticate just fine, and connect, ping all relevant servers by IP - but - no windows networking traffic is being passed.  My "network" is all XP pro boxes, no real servers, but it appears to be shutting down wins and/or netbios (dunno which) as all folder browsing works fine in network, but VPNd in - nothing but ping by IP.  I cannot even browse shares by IP, which is really odd.

I was under the impression the firewall rules don't apply to anyone being VPNd in... I'm baffled. Anything else I can mention to help solve this, as I am sure I am missing something - ask away.

Part two for extra bonus, the router in question is on an ISP that does not offer static IPs - there is no dyndns setup available on the router, is there maybe a PC client that can get this done?  I havent even started looking into this, but you guys tend to save me a boatload of time, so there you go!  Thanks again.Start Free Trial
