Losing SQL connection when using modem

Hi there -

I have a Windows 2000 system that is running an application that connects to a SQL server on our local NT network - works great. That is until I connect a local modem to an ISP - then the local system can no longer see the SQL server. I assume that there is some problem with IP changing to use the modem connection, but I can't figure out where that is configured or how to prevent it from happening.
