With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. W2k Server - Clients sometimes can't connect and list shares

Hi

I'm having the following problem in my network:
For no apparent reason, and this seems to happen at completely random moments, some W98 clients can't connect to the server and list folder/printer shares, via network neighborhood. They can connect just fine using TCP/IP services like FTP, WWW, and at all times, so I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware or cabling problem.

Also, at the same time, one client can connect just fine to the server and list its shares while the one just next to it can't do the same. Clients can browse each other just fine at all times.

Help please, I've reached my wit's end.
