I have a workgroup at home with three xp pro machines on it, simple file sharing disabled and permissions set to everyone. Do I need to create an account for all the computers on each machine and then log in as such from all the machines to one another to make it work or is there a simpler way? Will xp pro freak out if two computers log into the third one at the same time with the same account?
If security is not an issue, you can simply enable the Guest account and be done with it.
If you care at all about security, then you are stuck with creating a complete user account list on each and every PC.
The alternative is a "master" account system - Windows domain server. I don't think this is warranted in your small network.
No, XP will not freak out if two other computers log into a 3rd computer, all using the same account name.

So i can have just two accounts on each machine 1. the built in admin account and 2. the account which is used daily. Then I can be logged onto one machine through the daily account and have the other machines log in remotely to this account at the same time with no adverse affects?
