We're having this problem for a client too, and there doesn't seem to be any information about it.
The problem appears to be with the Terminal Server, and with the client's user profile on the Terminal Server. If we log in with that person's username from another computer, the problem still happens. Recreating the users profile on the TS fixed it temporarily, but the problem is back.
Try the following, in order, these may resolve the issue. We're just testing this now:
1. Update the User Profile Hive Cleanup Service to v1.6d http://www.microsoft.com/d
2. If the problem is just with some user accounts and not all of them, create a new user account in Active Directory and manually import the user's old details into the new acounts.
We're about to test these solutions. Basically we think there is either a bug in UPHC Service v1.5x, or there is a problem with the details for the user's account in AD.
All,
I am facing the same issue with Terminal Server as ohads but I notice that the drives are in fact getting mapped but they just appear as "System Folder" under "My Computer" under the "Other" heading and are inaccessible via those shortcuts. If on your Terminal Server session you create a shortcut in My Network Places to: \\tsclient\c you will be able to see the contents of the C: drive mapped from the user's local machine even though the drives do not appear in "My Computer"
Also, kibatsu just to clarify you posted two solutions and mentioned that you tested and it seemed to fix the problem. Which solution resolved #1 (update UPHC Service) or #2 (Create new account in AD) or both?
