Hi,
I should do this on the XP PC? If you mean the Win2K PC, then yes its already checked.

Browse All TopicsHi,
I have 2 Windows PCs connected to the same router, one Windows 2000 and the other one Windows XP.
They are configured in the same workgroup, so I can share the printer (printer is connected to the Win2K PC), but each time I try to connect to that printer from the XP PC, it fails. I need to manually enter the login & passwords by double clicking that PC's icon, after that I can use the printer.
When I try to access the shared folders in the XP PC from the Win2K PC, no login is required(which is what I wanted).
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Thanks.

did you make any shared folder on the XP?
add in the security tb of this folder a full permission to user everyone!!
go to its properties then security the click on add and type everyone then ok and ok ,,etc..
if security tab not available then go to folder options and uncheck """"use simple file sharing(recommended) """
check if you have an administrator account and assigned it a password on XP pc?
it's not necessary to be administrator but it has administrator privileges
try and reply

"The Win2K PC only has one Administrator account, so in this case I should change the account name on the XP PC to "Administrator" and create a password for that account too?"
As long as UserA from the XP Machine is a registered user of the Windows 2000 box, it can authenticate the 2000 machine's SAM.
Then you can manage shares and permissions.....
