script to check system info or system uptime of remote computer on same lan

hi i need a script to check the system info such as operating system, uptime and so on
i have made a batch file that will check the systeminfo localy but i need to be able to check a computer remotaly on my lan.
i dont know much about scripts so if you can tell me how what i do with the script you provide
that would help 2 thank you

There's no direct need for a script; try Sysinternal's PsInfo: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897550.aspx
(note that remote management tools in general will fail on Win9x; DOS isn't NT, after all.)

i should have explaned earlier sorry the batch script i made connects to a remote computer by its ip address and checks its system info
i could really use an SNMP script to do this job would you know a way.
could you explane the steps in the scrip.
i know there are loads of snmp tools that do this job for you but i need a script

No easy way to do this via SNMP because

1) You need password  to access SNMP on each machine


2) It needs to be installed  and running on each machine.

Use a log on script to run

sysinfo32 or winmsd in report mode and save it with the mchine name in a shared directory.
