step by step migration guide from Win2000 to Win2008
Hi,
I would like to upgrade Win2000 AD to Win2008 and rename Domain name nut save IP and name of DC.
Initial environment:
One DC Win2000 AD in mixed mode, no Exchange, domain name is mycompany.com, 20 PCs and 20 users
Goal:
One DC Win2008 AD in Native mode, no Exchange, domain name mycomapany.local, 20 PCs and 20 users
I would like to migrate usin TemDC Win2003 but without any reconfigaration of workstation.
is it possible and if yes, what is step-by-step guide?
regards, FINLAND

We migrated it using SWING migration method. First migrated the AD TEMPDC 2003 SERVER and then to FINALDC 2008 SERVER. The trust relationship between client computers and the server didn't broke. Also the serer's IP didn't change. The last reason to choose SWING-method were the fact that in that way we had some "official" supprt from SWING-migration team.
Thank you again.
