Question
ISA 2000 on SBS 2003 Dial up Connection to external network
Hi All,
I have an SBS 2003 Server with ISA 2000 installed. It has a WAN IP of 10.0.0.2/24 (which connects to an ADSL router & the internet). The SBS's LAN IP is 192.168.100.1/24. All machines on the internal network have 192.168.0.1 as it's default gateway and have no problems connecting to the internet.
I have a Win 2003 Standard Server setup as a terminal server that sits at 192.168.100.2/24. I have just installed some software on the terminal server that needs to communicate to an external address via a direct modem connection (not the internet). I am being told that my proxy server is blocking the connection. I have to allow port 443 through to the remote computer's IP address. Looking on the terminal server, I can see that the software has created a dial up connection. When I manually connect it at a Windows level it connects ok, and I can ping the remote computer. However the installed software can still not communicate over 443.
What changes do I have to make to the ISA server to allow communication? I thought that this proxy server would only control connections to the internet through the SBS and not a modem to modem connection on a computer on the internal network....Please Help!

Hi All,
Just want to let you know that I solved the problem was the Microsoft Firewall Client that was on the terminal server. I uninstalled this client and it works perfectly.
This is not the first time I have had to disable or remove the firewall client to get a piece of software with an outbound connection to work.
