As both your LANs will probably have private IP addresses (ie 192.168.0.0 or 10.0.0.0), the most cost effective way to do this is with a VPN.
This effectively joins the private networks securely over the public internet.
Depending on your exact needs, the best method would probably be a site-to-site VPN, for which you would usually need a public IP address available at each end, and a firewall device capable of making the vpn connection. Or a couple of servers that you can configure for VPN connections.
