RAID 1 With Exisiting System

I need help??

I had a server crash at a clients and blah blah blah it was horrible, now in order to get them up and running with as little fuss as possible i kept one drive out of the system to keep the data as they had RAID Mirroring setup.

I need to know can i not setup RAID 1 while i have the operating system already setup on one of the drives.

I have done this from fresh install before but i dont want it to wipe what i have.

Sorry very vague im in big big hurry to get this up and running let me know if you need more info.

I definitely need some more info - is this SCSI Raid? Yes, you should be able to setup RAID 1 on most systems without a problem. You shouldn't lose anything that you have. I know it's not a problem with just about any RAID setup I have ever worked with - RAID 1 is the easiest to deal with and recover from if there are any goof ups in a situation like this.

I have got into trouble before when i added the extra hdd and i setup the raid, it wiped everything on the existing hdd, all i need to know is is there a wayto do it.

I am using the raid on the motherboard.

Sorry i cant give you much more info becayse i just bailed on raid for the project.

I would still however like to know if it can be done for future reference.
