  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. How to network Win2003 Standard Edition as server & 7 WinXP Home Edition PCs ?

Hello Experts,

We have bought one server having Windows 2003 Standard Edition installed and 7_clients having Windows XP Home edition installed on them.

These all PCs & Server is connected to each other through a SWITCH using CAT-5 cable.

On server computer we installed a domain called "ICTDOMAIN".

Now I want to make clients able to login to domain only and they should be controlled (like rights etc.) from server and i do want to install "Terminal Services"also.

The only condition is... We have to give/assign every client a single and static IP address which will be set manually like...

Server Addressis : 192.168.0.1 (255.255.255.0)
Client 1 : 192.168.0.1 (255.255.255.0)
Client 2 : 192.168.0.10 (255.255.255.0)
Client 3 : 192.168.0.11 (255.255.255.0)
Client 4 : 192.168.0.12 (255.255.255.0)
Client 5 : 192.168.0.13 (255.255.255.0)
Client 6 : 192.168.0.14 (255.255.255.0)
Client 7 : 192.168.0.15 (255.255.255.0)

Clients will not be able to get their IP changed from server. The IP address onec manulayy alotted will not be changed at any condition. (i.e. no need of DHCP, i think so)

We have to make Internet connection shairing among all clients & server.

No setting is done on any client and we just installed domain on out server.

Please provide full and explain each every step clearly to setup this kind of Network.

1. Static IP Address
2. Internet Sharing
3. Server Controlled Network
4. Terminal Services
5. Printer Sharing.

I can increase points, if required but i need full explanation step by step. I am novice user.
please help....
