Having recently taken over Network Admin duties at a company, I have found an issue with the setup (or operation) of DFS on Windows Server 2003.
There are 2 DCs, defined also as file servers. DFS is up and running on both and a number of DFS entries are defined. Replication is described as Enabled, and to my limited knowkedge of DFS, all seems to be well. But replication does not appear to be working. Owing to the way people tend to use mapped drives here, one of the target areas is the main working area. But the other target area is falling increasingly out of step (although it appears that replication has ben working at some point in the past)
So my questions are:
1) Can someone tell me what to look for to determine why DFS replication might be failing?
2) What is the best way to reconcile the files such that the target area that has fallen so far behind is brought (and kept) up to date?
Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated
