How do you change the node type for Win2k Server?

Asked by canuseeit in Windows Networking, Miscellaneous Networking, Computer Servers

I have One server that somehow changed in the last week or two. it runs fine, it can see the network and the other computers. I can ping it but it doesn't allow any connections to it, no RDC, it cannot even be seen via it's name or IP address, even though it can see all the others and access them.

the only difference I see in the ipconfig is that it is broadcast node type where as the other are hybrid.

I've tried adding in (it wasn't there) the Node type as 8 using rededi and it didn't change anything. How do I change this? thanks!Start Free Trial
