SBS 2011 NETWORK CARD LOSES CONNECTIVTY AND SAYS DISCONNECTED

We have a client SBS Server which we have spent months on trying to resolve an issue.
The network card goes into an UNPLUGGED state.
We can remote to the server using the DRAC and disbale and renable of the NIC does nothing.
1. Have replaced the switch
2. Have replaced cables
3. Fully patched and up to date.
4. Forced NIC to 100MB Full Duplex to see if stable (seems to help more)
5. Latest Intel drivers (dated 2012) installed. - Model 82574L Intel embedded in Acer T310
6. Second NIC disabled and SBS dosnt lke the server
7. Already run fix my network and Internet wizards
8. Logs are pretty clean (waiting for users to login today as everything worked on the weekend)
9. Antivirus (Trend) is fully uninstalled (for testing)
10. Firewalls are all disabled or turned off on the server.
One thing I did notice was when Shadow Protect V5 (latest ver) was running, the server started to struggle a little.
I am not sure if VSS was causing an issue.
At this stage Shadow protect is disabled so I can monitor and see how it goes.
The problem is its intermittent and can for a day or a week without issues.
Has anyone else seen this issue please?

HI Larry, sorry I did forget to mention, Acer mainboard replaced as well !!!!
It went good for 6 months then started again.
Checked if any old / new devices added but none.
The funny thing we have noticed is PCs are dropping network and coming back again as well.
Cables, changed, switch changed, new PCs as well having issue.
I am thing it could be a storm on network, though not everything is going down at once.
Random things at random times.

Update found today.
Copying to the SBS server a 5MB file was taking minutes however to another server it was instant.
Checked all event logs again and all clean.
(Argh!)

Ok problem resolved.
1. We isolated 2 servers to a new switch. Copied 5mb file and took 5mins. This eliminated it isnt switch nor any cables or network devices.
2. As SBS can only use 1 NIC, we disabled the first NIC and enabled the second. Rerun all SBS Wizards (Fix my network and Internet) and retest. Found 1GB copies in 5secs and 5mb is instant.
In summary, we replaced the mainboard however still had issues.
What we did notice the server had two different model NICs
Swappin these around fixed the issues.
Hopefully come in handy for someone else.

Hi: Not sure I understand the above. But my take on your problem is to get Acer to warranty replace the mobo if an embedded NIC, or to add a NIC you can trust and disable the onboard nics. Best to do that by assigning an IP to the additional nic (don't run any wizards) then reboot and disable in the BIOS the embedded ones, then after restarting change the IP on the new to the preferred IP.
